Come to Vietnam With Me

Vietnam | March 2027

What if your next trip wasn’t simply about seeing a new place—but learning to experience and photograph it differently?

In March 2027, I’m traveling to Vietnam, and I’m inviting a small number of people to come with me.

This is not a traditional photography workshop. There will be no classroom sessions, scheduled lessons or pressure to come home with perfect photographs. Instead, I’ll be photographing alongside you—asking questions, offering suggestions and helping you notice the moments, details and stories that can easily be overlooked.

You can bring a camera or simply use your phone. You don’t need technical experience. You only need a sense of curiosity and a willingness to slow down, look again and experience Vietnam as more than a list of places to visit.

Ten Days of Life, Color and Flavor

Our journey begins in Hanoi and ends in Ho Chi Minh City, taking us through cities, villages, waterways and some of Vietnam’s most memorable landscapes.

Along the way, we’ll experience the energy of the cities, the preserved streets and canals of Hoi An, the history and villages surrounding Hue, and the slower rhythm of life along the Mekong Delta.

We’ll taste pho, banh mi, fresh rice paper rolls and Vietnam’s famous condensed milk coffee. We’ll travel down backstreets, meet local craftspeople and see the country from the water, the road and the middle of everyday life.

This is the kind of trip filled with opportunities to photograph not only what Vietnam looks like—but what it feels like to be there.

A Few of the Experiences Along the Way

  • Spend a night cruising among the limestone karsts and island caves of Ha Long Bay.

  • Explore Hanoi’s busy streets, food culture and everyday rhythms.

  • Ride pillion on a locally guided motorbike tour through the pagodas, bridges and villages surrounding Hue.

  • Walk through Hoi An’s beautifully preserved Old Town, where wooden buildings line the canals.

  • Slow down during a private boat journey through the waterways of the Mekong Delta and meet craftspeople in the surrounding villages.

  • Visit a community recycling center and learn about its local environmental work.

  • Dine at KOTO, a social enterprise helping disadvantaged young people build careers in hospitality.

  • Experience Vietnam with a local group leader and a small group of like-minded travelers.

What Does “Travel With Me” Mean?

I won’t be standing at the front of the group teaching formal lessons. I’ll be right there experiencing Vietnam with you.

As we explore, I may encourage you to change your perspective, stay with a moment a little longer or look beyond the most obvious photograph. I’ll help you think about the story of a place and notice the people, colors, details and quiet moments that give it character.

Sometimes that may mean helping you find a stronger composition. Sometimes it may be a question that helps you see something differently. And sometimes it may mean reminding you to put the camera down and simply be there.

The photography guidance will happen naturally; in the places and moments we encounter along the way.

You’ll Also Receive

Everyone traveling with me will receive:

  • A copy of my book, Photograph What It Feels Like: A Mindful Guide to Travel Photography

  • A specially created travel and photography journal to use before, during and after the trip

  • Informal photography guidance and encouragement throughout our time in Vietnam

Is This Trip for You?

This experience may be a good fit if you:

  • Love to travel and want to experience a place more deeply.

  • Want to take more meaningful photographs without getting lost in technical instruction.

  • Enjoy learning through conversation, observation and experience.

  • Are comfortable traveling as part of a small group.

  • Are curious about the people, food, culture and everyday life of a place.

  • Want to come home with more than a collection of sightseeing photographs.

You do not need an expensive camera—or even consider yourself a photographer. Phone and camera users of every experience level are welcome.

Interested in Joining Me?

The trip is planned for March 2027 and space will be limited.

If Vietnam has been on your list—or if this sounds like the way you would like to experience it—request the complete trip information, including dates, itinerary, pricing, accommodations and booking details.

Requesting information does not obligate you to book. It simply lets me know you would like to learn more.
